Aaron B. Ezekiel

BIO

Aaron Ezekiel was admitted to practice before the New Mexico courts in 2006. Before entering law school, he was a senior manager in film production, public television, higher education and information technology for more than 25 years. His experience included associate producing and distributing Academy Award-nominated documentary films; producing radio drama and hosting weekly public affairs broadcasts in a major TV market; leading start-ups in broadcasting and higher education; and negotiating broadcast licenses with U.S. and foreign television networks. He also consulted in the areas of business development and information technology planning and implementation.

Having worked closely with attorneys before becoming an attorney himself, Aaron is sensitive to the impact of litigation on individuals and organizations. He was CEO of a successful plaintiff in federal § 1983 litigation against a state agency and private not-for-profit entities, Independence Public Media of Philadelphia, Inc. v. Pennsylvania Public Television Network Commission, et al., 808 F.Supp. 416.

Aaron completed the 40-hour mediator training and the 20-hour advanced mediator training courses offered by UNM School of Law. He seeks to utilize mediation as a means of resolving disputes and conserving client resources. In collaboration with other firm members, Aaron is available as a mediator in appropriate cases.

During law school, Aaron was an editor of the Natural Resources Journal. He recently published The Application of International Criminal Law to Resource Exploitation: Ituri, Democratic Republic of the Congo in Vol. 47, No. 1, the Winter 2007 issue of the journal.

Aaron graduated in 1977 from Union Institute and University. He earned his law degree, the Natural Resources Certificate and a Dean’s award from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2006. He is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Germany and his legal training included an emphasis on treaties and international law and courts.

He is a member of the Technology and Bench and Bar Relations Committees of the New Mexico State Bar.
